GRLA Expands Building Envelope Sciences Division with New Director

HOPKINTON, MA: Gorman Richardson Lewis Architects (GRLA) is excited to announce that Matt Copeland, PE has joined the firm as Director of Building Envelope Sciences (BES).  Matt is a registered engineer and received a Master’s in Materials Science & Engineering from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute. With over 12 years of experience in the industry, Matt will be focused on all aspects of project and team management, as well working to further develop GRLA’s growing portfolio of building envelope work.  Matt has presented at Build Boston, the Roof Consultants Institute (RCI) International Convention, and the Urban Green Council, and his writing on building envelope science has appeared in The Construction Specifier.  “Matt’s experience in the field, technical expertise, and management skills make him a key addition to the GRLA team,” says Principal Scott Richardson. “Our firm is a leader in the building envelope sciences industry, and having Matt as division Director is a key signal of that commitment going forward.”

Matt will be joined by additional support staff, all of whom bring a depth of experience in the industry:

  • Nima Mansour as Project Manager
  • Joe St. Germain as Assistant Project Manager & Senior Technician
  • Jane Sherwood as Administrative Assistant

With expanded services, including building envelope commissioning, and increasing client demand, GRLA continues to grow its Building Envelope Sciences (BES) division, and will focus on adding 12-15 new team members over the next two years.
