Framingham History Center

Framingham, MA

Established in 1888, the Framingham History Center celebrates the city’s history by providing a rich offering of public events, lectures, exhibitions, celebrations, and tours. GRLA developed solutions for the two historic buildings - the Edgell Memorial Library Building (1872) and the Academy Building (1837) – to solve accessibility issues, climate control issues, exhibit improvements, lighting improvements, storage, staff work areas and archive areas. A key feature of the library building are intermediate glass lights in the attic floor that once restored and opened will once again provide daylight from the skylights above down to the exhibit areas below.
