Scope:

Massachusetts Maritime Academy required a roof system replacement at the Facilities Department Building due to several ongoing active leaks both under the original roof which was installed in 1999 and a section of rubber roof which was replaced in 2020.

Services:

  • Removal of existing roof system down to the structural deck. 

  • Remove and dispose of the existing 80 square PVC roof assembly and all components, down to the wooden deck.

  • Install new drains to meet state plumbing codes.

  • Mechanically attach flat & tapered polyisocyanurate insulation, per wind-uplift test adhesion patterns and to meet building code.

  • Adhere ½” gypsum coverboard in foam insulation adhesive.

  • Adhere 2 modified base plies to gypsum coverboard in cold adhesive at rate of 2.5 gallons per sq.

  • Adhere mineral surface modified cap sheet to base ply in cold adhesive at rate of 2.5 gallons per sq.

  • Attach ANSI-SPRI certified metal edge system.
