Upton Grange
Upton, Massachusetts
GRLA proudly led the transformation of the historic Upton Grange, restoring its architectural character while delivering essential safety, accessibility, and durability upgrades. The project included a full reroof with substrate repairs, restored clapboard siding and trim, fresh protective coatings, and the careful abatement of hazardous materials—all completed with an eye toward craftsmanship and historical accuracy.
Accessibility and safety improvements were paramount. GRLA oversaw the reconstruction of a fully code-compliant accessible ramp, the repair and repainting of the rear fire escape, the resetting of granite entry steps to proper rise and run, and the installation of new, historically sensitive railings. Site enhancements, including landscaping and parking upgrades, further improved access and created a more inviting arrival experience.
The completed renovation has breathed new life into this beloved community landmark, ensuring it remains safe, accessible, and welcoming for generations to come. With the Upton Grange’s historic charm preserved and its functionality elevated, it now stands ready to host programs, events, and gatherings that strengthen the community it has served for decades.
